(Please note that all events will be subject to moderation and will not appear immediately on the calendar, and that SPJ reserves the right not to approve events that are off-topic or not in line with our mission.)

Tags help your event show up in all the right places. Your event will appear in the main calendar regardless of how you tag it, but if your event also belongs on more specialized calendars that appear throughout SPJ.org, these tags will help. (Just be honest about where it belongs and don't tag your event where it won't be a fit.) If you feel we haven't covered all our bases with the available tags, you can suggest additional ones below, and those will automatically apply to your event as well.
Your event's category will help ensure it shows up in all the right places. Your event will appear in the main calendar regardless of how you categorize it, but if your event is specific to a region or community, categorizing it as such will ensure it features prominently on those calendars.
